Lost” actor Daniel Dae Kim has been arrested early Thursday morning at around 3AM on suspicion of drunk driving in Hawaii.

Here I would say the same to Daniel Dae Kim that I said to Michelle Rodriguez also a ‘lost’ actress in this Weblog a couple of weeks ago, as she was sentenced to six months prison on DUI Related Offence.

Kim, you have a genuine reason to fight back in regard to this DUI that can even make you world famous. You should contend that it is the alcohol authorities who are primarily responsible for the peoples DUI incidents accidents!

To see its proof first of all you should go into the drunk driving epidemiological research survey statistics. All of which basically reveals that almost all those drunk driving incidents and most importantly its accidents happens to people who have been consuming the HIGH ALCOHOL CONTENT beverages (that includes the standard “beer” having around 5% alcohol) all of which have been licensed by the authorities in the named of “Standard alcohol Drinks” (SADs*). On this basis you can argue that it is primarily due to this “misconduct” of the authorities licensing such extremely dangerous drunk driving causing SADs for the public consumption that cause peoples drunk driving including yours. If the authorities licensed only those “safe” low alcohol content beverages for the public consumption such a drunk driving incident never would have happened to you as well as to others!

You have been made into a DUI scapegoat like the others in order to cover-up the alcohol authorities misconduct. I urge you to come out and fight it out. You have nothing to loose but your DUI shackles.

2. Woman charged with drunk driving with kid in car

23 Oct 2007: A 30-year-old woman has been charged with impaired driving while her three-year-old daughter was in the car.

South Simcoe Police were called to a head-on crash in Bradford West-Gwillimbury yesterday.

The little girl wasn't hurt and the driver of the other car was taken to hospital.
Police allege the accused woman registered a blood alcohol level two-and-a-half times the legal limit.

It appears that those sober people more impaired in their judgment about drunk driving than those crazy drunks.


We often read the news, Mom’s, Dad’s drunk driving while their children in the vehicle. --- But why does a dear mother or father and all those who love their children more than any one in this world so much so that they even ready to put their own life at risk of death to save their small children’s now suddenly become such a crazy drunks that they put their own children at serious risk of severe injury or tragic death.

It is easy for people to blindly put the entire blame on these drunk drivers. The greatest irony of all of it is that even though all who blame it entirely on them know it perfectly well that it is those alcohol drinks licensed by the authorities precisely for the public consumption made them highly drunk and more or less impaired their judgmental ability that in their particular situation or condition misled them into this drunk driving that could many times can result in its tragic accidents.

As long as the authorities license such extremely dangerous high alcohol drinks in the name of standard alcohol drinks for the public consumption such tragic drunk driving accidents mayhems basically going to continue. - All their DUI preventative measures that they recommend and impose upon the public such as assigning designated drivers, ignition interlocks, sobriety checkpoints,……. and finally severe punishment for the DUI offenders, all are mostly window dressing! They only focus or address toward the drunk drivers who are not its real culprits but indeed are the alcohol beguiled, vulnerable, gullible DUI scapegoats!

Son’s DUI Crash get his Dad Dead

They were Drinking Together

Eric Gomez, 17, and his father Agustin Gomez, 48, were drinking together before the Saturday night at the weekend. The drunk father and son then decided to go on a ride in their SUV. The son driving soon the sport utility vehicle crash and the dad in the passenger seat died.

Police found that the younger Gomez had a blood-alcohol count of 0.16 – twice the legal limit for adult. He is now charged with reckless homicide and three count of aggravated DUI.

Augustine Gomez’s family should sue the alcohol authorities for primarily causing their sons drunk driving accident that resulted in his fathers tragic death rather than the authorities suing their son for it. For following reasons.

Because as you know it quickly makes its drinkers to get highly drunk, intoxicated, with such an ease.

However on the other hand the human body (liver) finds it very difficult metabolize and get rid of it. It takes a very long time to do so. Meanwhile the alcohol in the form of the BAC accumulates in the body in large amounts keeping the people highly drunk with severe impaired mind for so many hours that potentially lead many of them into the drunk driving and the tragic accidents. However this does not happen in the case of low-alcohol(having 2% or less alcohol) drinks consumption.

Drunk Driver Sentenced 35 Years Prison

DUI Death Pursued As Murder

On December 21, 2003, Julie and her husband Brent Jones were returning home from a Christmas party in their Chevrolet Tahoe, Jack Strickland driving drunk in wrong way on Airport Freeway with his Isuzu Rodeo crashed with Jones’s car. Brent 37 who was in the passenger seat, died and the scene. Julie his wife was driving, sustained extensive injuries and been hospitalized. Their twin sons Lauren and Jacob were only 9-months old then.

Strickland who had been convicted on DWI charges twice before had a blood alcohol level of 0.20 i.e. two and a half time more over the legal limit of 0.08 was also injured and taken to the hospital, where he was treated and placed under arrest.

Jones is now representative of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and is involved with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Of course the tragic DUI death of husband would be devastating for his wife and to their young children that I very much sympathize with. However I question Julie Jones involvement in the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. They in some way are part of the alcohol authorities in general who license those high alcohol content drinks in the name of Standard Alcohol Drink (SADs) for the public consumption, which cause almost all of the drunk driving accidents.

I also feel extremely sorry for Jack Strickland the repeat drunk driver. I see him basically as an alcohol vulnerable person who had fallen gullibly into the treacherous trap of drinking the potentially dangerous SADs trap laid down by the authorities. I also very much sympathize with the near and dear ones of Strickland his close family, friend and others who I guess some how have the gut feeling that he has been made as a DUI scapegoat.

South Africa Western Cape: A radical new proposal by the Assert Forfeiture Unit (AFU) has emerged under the prevention of Organized Crime Act that recommends the state to confiscate cars driven by the drunk drivers.

This follows two cases involving the Seizure of cars.

The first one is; Western Cape resident Benjamin Kleinbooi to have his car a Corolla confiscated, while he was drunk driving three years ago, now first charged under this law.

It is well known that some of the responsibility of drunk driving blamed upon those who are found associated with it.

It is a teenage or underage people their parents, or the party host or whoever supply them with those drinks also made party responsible. Even If a adult caught drunk driving retuning from a pub the owner made partly responsible.(Following this logic I just wonder is there any possibility of making all the party hosts, organizers, or the home owners responsible for those get drunk in their places and then caught while driving under influence (DUI) back home!)

Now the ‘Assert Forfeiture Unit’ go one step further in declaring the drunk driven car is a “instrument of offence” The banks who loan to purchasing the car also warned of their responsibility not to fiancé the DUI offender so to check the DUI record of the person before financing.

However no one cares to question about main source who supply or sell these high alcohol content drink for the public that causes almost all these drunk driving and most importantly its accidents?

The authorities would not want to put the blame on the alcohol industry because it is very powerful and they themselves have their own misconduct share (stake) in it! Vikki Coxon A DUI Fatal Injury Victim

Drunk Driving Caused by Authorities Alcohol Licensing

Vikki Caxon 24, just another on tragic drunk driving victim statistics. She was walking to her home in Main Road in the village with her boyfriend Craig Morley, 33 after a night at the nearby Bristol Arms pub when Kerry Mills 28, of Wellesley Road, Ipswich driving drunk in a Vauxhall Astra slammed into her from behind.

Miss Coxon was thrown on to the windscreen of Mills’ Astra and carried 30ft before being flung on to the road and August 27. her left leg snapped in two places, while her right leg suffered sever ligament damage.

Her right arm was broken and she is now unable to fully extend it. She needed a blood transfusion, 42 staples and 37 Stitches and spent six weeks in Ipswich Hospital. She is confined to a bed except for a few rare excursions in a Wheelchair and doctors cannot tell her if she will ever walk properly again.

Her parents David, 62, and Diana Coxon, 60, are caring for her and Mr coxon, a lecturer at University College Suffolk, is taking early retirement to be there for her.

The South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court heard that when Mills was breath tested police found she had 171 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millitres of blood. She was more than twice the legal alcohol limit, as the legal limit is 80 milligrammes. She had been drinking at lunch had a drink at a pub that night in shotley Gate with friend who had been celebrating his birthday and was drunk himself.

Mills, 28, confessed to drink driving, careless driving and driving a vehicle in dangerous condition when she appeared at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

She cried in the dock as District Judge David Cooper warned she could be jailed when she returns for sentencing next month. She was released on unconditional bail to return to court on November 13 for sentencing. She was given and interim driving ban. She said: “ She is sorry. She doesn’t care if she ever drives again, she’s not had a drop pf alcohol since.

Chief Inspector Martin Barnes-Smith, from Suffolk police’s roads policing unit, said: “ It is totally unacceptable to drink and drive. There is absolutely no excuse. –The chances of people getting caught nowadays are greater than they ever have been. No longer is it acceptable to make that choice.”

City Council Candiate Arrested for Drunk Driving

Taking this DUI Issue Could Make Her More Famous

On October 17 at 11:30 PM, and SPD DUI officer spotted a car speeding and drifting side to side of the lane. It was stopped, its driver was Seattle City Council candidate Venus Velazquez.

The officer noticed a strong mint smell on her breath, which made him suspect she was trying to cover up the smell of alcohol. He gave her a field sobriety test, then arrested her and took her to the West Precinct.

She refused to take a breath test and consequently charged on the suspicion of driving under the influence according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to velazquez , she attended a candidate forum in Ballard on Wednesday, then went to dinner, where she said she had two drinks with her meal.

“I stayed long enough until I believed I was not impaired,” she said. “I do not believe I was impaired or I would have not driven home.”

She was released after 12:40 AM and a police officer drover her home. A police department statement said “Ms. Velazquez was treated in the same way as any other person under similar circumstances. Her license could be suspended for a year after a hearing with the state Department of Licensing.
The case has been sent to the City Attorney. A court appearance has been scheduled for Saturday.

Velazquez said: “What I hope will happen is that voters will see this for what it is. It’s a bad judgment call. It doesn’t negate what I’ve been running on for nine months.”

It is a irony that people even in those high offices, positions can be belied and become gullible or beguiled into drinking those alcohol drinks. Thinking it can be used for their moderate safe drinking. That much amount would not and SHOULD NOT make them drunk or impaired for driving! But they get it totally wrong!

What these people basically don’t know is that; the drunk driving happens essentially due to the alcohol authorities licensing of those high-alcohol content drinks (due to their alcohol research misconduct) for the public consumption under the name of Standard Alcohol Drinks, which causes almost all those drunk driving accidents.

Here I call upon, Venus Velazquez Seattle City Council Candidate to take up this issue. It can benefit the people more and could make her more famous then becoming a city canceller.

Teenage DUI Offenders: Who Licensed the Drink?

Here below I copy two recent reports of the teenage DUI or drunk driving. Both ended up in accidents killing its teenage passengers. I picked the report first one from the Chicago Tribune and the second one from .

Teen gets 4 years in prison for fatal DUI crash

A Carpentersville teenager was sentenced Tuesday to 4 years in prison for a drunken driving crash last year that killed a passenger and injured another.Ramiro E. Granados-Dominguez, 17, pleaded guilty in August to charges of reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence. He was sentenced by Cook County Circuit Judge John Scotillo in Rolling Meadows.Granados-Dominguez, a student at Dundee Crown High School, was 16 when he lost control of his car on Dundee Road in Barrington on July 24, 2006, authorities said. Killed in the crash was Saul Jimenez, 21, of Lake in the Hills. Another passenger, Jacquelyn Perez Negron, 19, of Algonquin, was injured.

Perez Negron told police she estimated the car was going 100 m.p.h. as the three were returning from a late night party in Palatine. Authorities said Granados-Dominguez had a blood-alcohol level of 0.116. The limit for adults is 0.08.

In court, Granados-Dominguez apologized to the families of the victims and said he did not intend to hurt anybody.

Horry Teen to Face DUI Charge

An Horry County teenager will be charged with felony DUI for an accident that killed another teen.

Florence County Solicitor, Ed Clements said his team is reviewing Highway Patrol's investigation of an accident that happened in July.16-year-old Kayla Bennett died in the crash.Clements said he's preparing the indictment for the driver, 16-year-old Taylor Shelley.Florence County adopted this case two weeks ago because of conflicts in Horry County.

Shelley's uncle Gary Shelley was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after officials say he provided alcohol to his niece.


It is the same story all over again and again! Even though the report is very sketchy but you can make it out! Young teenage friends meet together. They manage to get alcohol drinks somewhere and get drunk. Thereafter find a need for driving, among other things to reach them home. Calling designated driver? First of all they are underage prohibited to drink at all! Any how they think they can also pull it out as they managed to get the drink! They all get into that vehicle for the designated ride. But some one among them has to drive. Unfortunately that ones driving ends up in a serious crash fatally injuring, tragically killing one or more.

Now its entire blame falls on the driver having drunk. But the teenagers not supposed to drink. So who supplied the alcohol drinks the source of the to this underage persons? The concerned and affected people link its source to the alcohol drink provider (or the pub owners). They should be should be also made partly if not fully responsible and should be punished for their share in causing such DUI accidents.

However no one cares to question about its most crucial link its main source that supplies and licenses these of alcohol drinks for the public consumption that could effortlessly or unwittingly turn anyone into such a drunk in the first place?

The authorities don’t seems to understand that so far as these high alcohol content beverages are made available for the public consumption , one can not prevent these teenagers from obtaining it by hook or crook and drinking it as much as they like. They get it any way no matter what all restriction you place on them! The truth is that these alcohol drinks not only dangerous to the underage people it is potentially dangerous to all ages whoever drinks them!

These high alcohol drinks that has been licensed and sold under the banner of Standard Alcohol Drinks (SADs)potentially cause excessive alcohol consumption! They casually call it getting intoxicated or drunk! I call it excessive alcohol poisoning due to the consumption of high alcohol content drinks. It mainly impairs the person’s brain or mind so much so that they themselves do not clearly know or misjudge it. It provokes them inadvertently to commit suicidal acts, more so when they get into driving thus putting themselves and others life at extreme risk even death that they (or any one) normally don’t want to do when not that much drunk or under the influence or intoxicated!

However the most important thing to know in this matter of alcohol drinks is that; there are no research evidences that proves that all alcohol drinks cause the DUI accidents. But at the same time those research evidences overwhelmingly point out that it is mainly those high-alcohol content drinks (most popular among is the beer containing around 5% alcohol) cause almost all driving accidents.

Following this research evidence, if the alcohol authorities had licensed only the alcohol (say having around 2% or less) low drinks even if those underage people like Ramiro E. Granados-Dominguez, Taylor Shelley obtained those drinks, most probably it would not have made them such a drunk responsible for the accident.

Ronald Gary Finch Sentenced 13 years for DUI Manslaughter

Drunk Driving Hidden Facts

Florida October 16, 2007: In a drunk driving case, State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the plea and sentencing, to 13 years in prison, in Bay County Circuit Court, of Ronald Gary Finch on charges of DUI Manslaughter and Driving While License suspended or revoked.

Finch was driving a 1997 Dodge van on June 6, 2007 about 10:25 p.m., when he drove head-on into the northbound lanes of Highway 77, near the intersection of Lake Merial Boulevard, and struck a van driven by Roy. Roy an employee of the Panama City Beach Post Office, was traveling from church to his home and met with the collision, ending on his death.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement laboratory reported that Finch’s blood alcohol level was .331. The illegal limit is 0.08.

Finch had twice previously been convicted of DUI. His license was revoked, for five years, for a 2004 Washington County conviction.

Florida law requires that an inmate serve at least 85 per cent of his sentence.

However what is hidden from the pubic view is; that the DUI incidents accidents, deaths primarily not the Drunk Drivers fault. Its “root-cause” lies in the “alcohol research misconduct” that allows the authorities to license those potentially dangerous high alcohol content drinks in the name of ‘Standard Alcohol Drinks’ (SADs) for public consumption that causes its drinkers BAC to cross over the legal limit (even twice, thrice or more some times) so effortlessly and unwittingly, which results in almost all of those inadvertent tragic DUI accidents.

Drunk driving or the DUI incidents, accidents, deaths basically going to continue more or less in this same manner as far as its root-cause remain protected at its center by the authorities! All the DUI preventative measures that the authorities put forward and take, such as assigning designated drivers, ignition interlocks, sobriety checkpoints,……. and finally severe punishment for the DUI offenders, all are like window dressing! They only focus or address toward the drunk drivers who are not its real culprits but indeed are the alcohol vulnerable gullible DUI scapegoats! The real culprits of the drunk driving are those most powerful alcohol drink industry it high profit mainly comes from selling those potentially dangerous SADs. Its licensing facilitated by the alcohol authorities who because of their alcohol research misconduct, lets it to continue as it serves their own vested interest!

The authorities would not dare to put the blame on the alcohol industry because it is very powerful and they have their own stake in it! Therefore they mislead the public by putting the entire DUI blame on the drunk drivers who are the alcohol vulnerable gullible scapegoats!

Gina Maria Del Rio: Poisoned By Those Alcohol Drinks

SAN DIEGO 15th October 2007- Gina Maria Del Rio, 19 of Dl Monte was arrested on suspicion of DUI drunken driving and manslaughter.

The accident occurred around 5:10 Monday of south bound Interstate, 5 north of Manchester Avenue offramp, said the officer Tom Kerns, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.

Del Rio and a front-seat passenger in the car were both wearing seat belt suffered minor injuries. However a 19- year old Whittier woman riding in back was not wearing a seat belt was thrown from the rear of the car. She latter died at a hospital. Her name was not released Pending notification of her family.

It is a too familiar story. Underage friends meet together engage in drinking. They get drunk. Thereafter find a need for driving, among other things to reach them home. Calling designated driver? They are underage! Not even permitted to drink! After-all they think they can manage it. They all get into that vehicle. But some one among them has to drive. ISRAEL Zero-Tolerance To Drunk Driving: Or Yarok’s Recommendations

Zero-Tolerance Marshal-Laws End Up Doing More Harm Than Good

I found a news article (given down below) in “The Jerusalem Post” reporting about the Or Yarok’s “White Paper”, which suggests stringent Zero-Tolerance measures toward the drunk drivers.

As always, these DUI preventative recommendations entire target is to severely punish the alcohol vulnerable gullible DUI offenders so to make them a scapegoat example deterrent for others who may dare!

On the other hand these recommendations not even mention about the hidden main culprits of the DUI. They seems to not even aware that it is the alcohol industry and the authorities who license those high alcohol content drinks, which causes almost all those alcohol(ism) problems including the drunk driving incidents accidents.

Or Yarok’s Zero tolerance recommendations to prevent the drunk driving is like proposing marshal laws to prevent widespread social unrest or to establish military dictatorship to bring in law-and-order! By which one may succeed in keeping control over the people to an certain extent. However such stringent anti-liberal, anti-democratic measures has It own downfall. It would ultimately degenerate into bureaucratic red-tape hassles, public fear of being wrongly accused when error margin so thin, corruption, fraud, miscarriage of justice that finally end up doing more harm to the society than doing any good than window dressing!

The right thing to do is to find out the root-cause of this “excessive” alcohol consumption problem “drunkenness” in those people! The people’s genuine needs and the vulnerability that leads them into this DUI problem. Instead of bringing in hundreds of such anti-democratic anti-liberal legislations for severely punishing the alcohol vulnerable gullible individuals sentencing them for long years of its terrible imprisonment the authorities should first mainly try to find out its root-cause and to remove it so most of the problems would go away along with it.

Or Yarok calls for tough action on drunk driving

Eighty-five percent of Israelis believe the law should show zero tolerance toward drivers under 21 who have any alcohol in their blood, according to a survey released Monday by the Or Yarok road safety organization.

The survey of attitudes toward drunk driving supplements Or Yarok's "White Paper," a list of recommendations aimed at reducing the phenomenon.

At least 15% of traffic accidents in Israel are caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol, according to the Danek Gertner Institute. But that number only includes people involved in collisions. The real figure is higher, said Or Yarok spokesman Aharon Latitot.

The 15-page White Paper is addressed to the Transportation Ministry's National Road Safety Authority and includes recommendations based on measures used in countries that have successfully lowered drunk driving, such as Sweden, Australia and The Netherlands.

Or Yarok said the authority should take the lead and create a comprehensive, long-term plan to battle drunk driving.

The authority should also step up its collection of data from traffic accidents that involve alcohol, create a comprehensive database of the information and make it public, Or Yarok said.

The White Paper calls for tighter laws on drunk driving, including swifter punishment for lawbreakers. According to the recommendations, the government should:

· Make it illegal to have any alcohol in your bloodstream for: drivers under 21; public transportation drivers, heavy truck drivers and people who've been convicted of a drunk driving offence.

· Ensure that breathalyzer results can be admitted as evidence in court.

· Anchor the maximum legal blood alcohol content for drivers, 0.05%, in law rather than in regulation, as is currently the case.

· Have the Israel Police increase random alcohol checks and ensure that 33% of drivers are tested each year

· Publicize these efforts in an intensive campaign and warn drivers that drunk driving laws will be fully enforced, which includes towing the cars of violators and suspending their drivers' licenses.

"Surprisingly, more people are deterred [from drunk driving] by the chance of being caught than by the odds of being injured in an accident," said Latitot. "The best solution to the problem is to make sure that nobody will think about sitting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol."

The public awareness campaign should also explain the dangers of driving under the influence and suggest ways that people can avoid it, such as the use of a designated [sober] driver or public transportation.

"We want to make it socially unacceptable to drink and drive," said Or Yarok in the press release announcing the White Paper and accompanying survey of 515 people.

The survey found that 75% of Israelis don't respect people who drink and drive; 2% said they did respect such drivers.
"Things have begun to change in the last year thanks to increasing public awareness," Latitot said. "The social acceptance of drunk driving is much lower than one would have thought."

Drunk Driving Sentence Light in India

I came across this Drunk Driving news report in the Express News Service India . I found it amazing because the punishment for the DUI offence so light that I thought that the DUI offenders of US or the western countries would envy it. Two get jail in Thane for drunk driving

Mumbai, October 11 The Thane Magistrate Court on Thursday sentenced two men to two days in jail for driving while drunk and for failing to possess the license.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2,100 ($ 46 app.)* each on Krishna Tumbal (29) from Manpada in Thane and Bhavesh Damani (28) from Mira Road. The two were reportedly driving their motorbikes without the licences.

The court has also ordered six other offenders—Tirnath Pal, Dyanesh Tendulkar, Sandeep Patil, Hiranandani estate resident Rajesh Kamble, Suhas Padekar from Katraj in Pune, Vishal Surve—to sit in the court till it rises.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 ($44 app.)* each on them.

The Thane police have come down heavily on people flouting traffic rules.

“Over 300 people have been fined in the last two days,” said Thane DCP (Traffic) Dr Dyaneshwar Chavan.

“We have issued strict instructions to officers to be present when the accused are produced before the court and convince the court for a stringent punishment,” he added.

Last week, three people were jailed after the Mumbai police caught them talking on their cellphones while driving.

Carla J. Carstens Sentenced 10 to 15 years In A Drunk Driving Case

Drunk Driving DUI Was It Her Fault?

In Adams Country District Court on Tuesday 15th October 2007 Carla J. Carstens 41, of Kenesaw was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for a DUI crash that killed 73- year-old Claude Black of Hildretht

A judge found Carstens guilty of manslaughter stemming from a November 2006 crash that killed Black. The state alleged that her blood alcohol level well over the legal limit that night

The judge called Carstens an alcoholic and said she posed a great risk of driving drunk again>

YES! There indeed is a high risk if she got free should would fall into the driving drunk again! But is it her fault? – As long as the Gov. alcohol authorities continue to license those high alcohol content alcohol drinks (which she loves so much), the alcohol vulnerable gullible people like Carstens become its victims and the DUI scapegoats. But there are thousands of people like her out there you cannot stop them. Michael Repko, 39, of Winslow, admitted of drunk driving on May 2 that killed a 12 years old boy Najeeb Najeeb Green-Lewis the riding an electric scooter. He was sentenced Friday 12th October 2007 to 10 years in state prison.

Repko, who had previous DUI convictions, was driving on a suspended license at the time. A blood-alcohol test taken when he was arrested hours after the accident had a reading of .20.

In the courtroom Repko wept openly as family members remembered the 12-year-old. He said; “There isn't a day that I don't want to die "I'm sorry for taking your son from you. I know he can't be replaced."

NEWMARKET, Ont. --- Former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Rob Ramage 48, has been found guilty of being criminally responsible for causing the death of his friend former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Keith Magnuson, in a horrific car crash. Prosecutor Paul Tait said scientific evidence showed Ramage had up to four times the legal blood-alcohol limit at the time of the crash.

Ramage was driving Magnuson, 56, home in December 15, 2003 after they attended the funeral of NHL Alumni Association chair Keith McCreary in nearby Bolton. Magnuson, died instantly, when the car driven by Ramage slammed into another vehicle in Woodbridge,

"It has been a tremendous tragedy since the day of the accident," Ramage said. "My heart and prayers and thoughts, as they have been since the day of the accident, is with Cindy and Kevin and Molly Magnuson. It's a tragedy for all, including my family."

Ramage's family wept after hearing the verdict, which was returned after four-and-a-half hours of deliberations by the eight-man, four-woman jury.

Ramages attorney Greenspan said Magnuson's widow called Ramage on Tuesday to give him her support.

Thankfully, there seems no animosity (hostility) towards Rampages by the Magnus family unlike in other such cases. --- Instead there prevails some compassionate understanding that some how this drunk driving accident entirely not his fault!.---The all know that Rampage only intended to give some helping lift but unfortunately it all disastrously ended up in the fatal accident and the tragic death! (As it happens most of the time in such drunk driving cases.) ----- Perhaps people in similar situation will understand the root-cause of this drunk driving, instead of entirely blaming it on the drunk driver. LOS ANGELES: Michelle Rodriguez 29, former ‘Lost’ actress has been sentenced to six months in jail on Wednesday (10-10-2007) for violating probation stemming from a string of DUI or the drunk driving offences.

She Admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of community service and by consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol monitoring device", Los Angeles city attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said.

She was also ordered to have alcohol rehabilitation treatment for 30 days, do 30 days of community service and stay on probation until June 2009. She must report to jail to begin her sentence by December 24, the Los Angeles city attorney's office said.

Man Sentenced to up to 20 Years for 13th DUI

Wayne: - Mark D. Marvin 49, was sentenced on October 4th to Five to Twenty years on the account of his 13th DUI offence by Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of .18, with a suspended license and being a habitual offender.

"It's a miracle he hasn't killed anybody or himself," said Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Thomas Beadle. Authorities are baffled that not even jail time deterred Marvin from drinking and driving. Beadle said Marvin didn't take responsibility for his actions in court.

"He said he doesn't have the guilty mind to do this," he said. "He is in denial and claims he doesn't know why he drinks and drives."

Obviously it seems Marvin suffer from the chronic alcohol dependence “Alcoholic” disease. It is basically not his fault because he is doing it in his alcohol-impaired state of mind so repeatedly falls into this DUI offence.

Under the “Drunk Driving: Root Cause” perspective the alcohol authorities primary responsible for causing the DUI in people like Marvin. Therefore the judge should make the alcohol authorities responsible for it and set him free.
