Why Driving With High BAC Is Wrong - While Licensing of High-Alcohol Drinks Not?

Please Note: - This article has been revised, updated and put forward newly in this post.

We All know that driving having the Blood Alcohol Count (BAC) over a given (0.08) level is considered as drunk driving or DUI offence whether it had caused accidents or not!

This over the BAC limit DUI offence and its sentencing solidly based on the alcohol epidemiological research surveys, which clearly points out that people having the BAC above the given levels and driving significantly increase their risk of getting into the accidents endangering their and the others life.-- The higher the drivers BAC the more the risk.--- On the other hand the epidemiological survey also points out that the risk of the accidents while having the BAC levels below the given (.08) level is significantly less therefore it cannot be considered as an offence.

However when it comes to the alcohol drinks the authorities who license those Standard Alcohol Drinks (SADs) for the public consumption seem to apply a very different alcohol standard!--- While for the driving they impose a very strict BAC limit. Having below this (.08) limit is considered relatively safe to drive but above which is considered extremely dangerous therefore a serious offence. But when it comes to limiting alcohol content in the SADs licensing the authorities impose no safety limits!--- No matter the drinks containing 2% or 50% alcohol (v/v) does not make any significant safe or dangerous difference in terms of causing the alcohol(ism) problems in the people before their eyes!

However truth of this matter is same as it is found in the DUI-BAC surveys also in the field alcohol drinks; ‘all the alcohol epidemiological research surveys basically points out that almost all those drunk driving incidents and most importantly those high BAC driving accidents mainly happens as a result of people consuming those HIGH ALCOHOL CONTENT beverages (that includes the standard “beer” having around 5% alcohol). Nevertheless all of which have been licensed by the authorities in the named of “Standard alcohol Drinks”.

On the other hand same like in the BAC driving cases, there are no fundamental alcohol research survey evidences or statistics that fundamentally suggests that the consumption of Low Alcohol Drinks (LADs) having alcohol around 2% or less, results or causes any of these drunk driving offences specially its high BAC driving accidents!

However the alcohol authorities who license these alcohol drinks to public consumption seems argue that the overwhelming majority of people who consume this high alcohol content SADs, do not fall into such alcohol(ism) problem, therefore they see no wrong or offence by their licensing of the so called high alcohol drink.

Now in the court let the person charged with DUI stand up (or the defending lawyer) and argue that he has been driving having around that much amount of alcohol so many times so far causing no such driving accidents. It is only a small minority having above that BAC cause accidents but the majority not. Therefore it should not be made as an offence. It is only when people cause accident should be considered as a serious offence irrespective of the Alcohol Counts in their blood high or low!

Without any further deliberations let me conclude this by asking the same top question once again: Why the peoples driving With High-BAC is an Offence -- While the authorities Licensing of the high-alcohol drinks is not? -- As both of them equally as well cause driving accidents. And the latter causes far worse alcohol(ism) problems.

It is mainly due to a on going “alcohol research misconduct” of the alcohol authorities that allows them to license these SADs that primarily cause all those alcohol(ism) problems. To know more on this subject matter read the following most important papers in my blog WebPages:
