DUI convictions can’t be erased

I came across this above titled very interesting article on the matters of Drunk Driving in the <http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071124/NEWS03/711240362/1017/NEWS> by the “Tennessean. Com” staff writer Sheila Burke.

It is about the tough new DUI laws specially proposed by the MADD and it seem to present a mild protest to it on that matter that very much comes out in its readers comments. Here my comments to it.

Hi Sheila Burke,

These drunk driver bashing campaigners (individuals, groups, agencies, organizations), MADD in the forefront, do not care about civil liberties, rights or whatever when it comes to the matters of drunk driving! They entirely blame it on the alcohol vulnerable, gullible people and wants them to be severely punished with whatever vindictive ways they can lay their hands on! So now they intend to make even the first time DUI offenders as the hardened criminals by seeing to it that their DUI Convictions can’t be erased!

On the other hand I am totally astounded at their resilience to remain utterly silent about the alcohol drink governing bosses. Those who license, market those extremely dangerous high-alcohol drinks for the public consumption in the name of “Standard Alcohol Drinks” (SADs). All of which as the alcohol(ism)epidemiological surveys pointing out, causes almost all those drunk driving specially those fatal accidents!

Perhaps their next step in this direction would be to make drinking and driving, whatever low their BAC may be a criminal offense (they already aim at 0.05 BAC) whether or not it makes the driver objectively or scientifically impaired to drive compared to the sober one! So they will become very successful in milking hard the drinking and driving alcohol vulnerable gullible public! So the high-way patrolling and MADD would become a highly profitable business more compatible with the alcohol industry and the alcohol tax revenue collection!

Perhaps people are not so idiots not to understand the fact that drunk drivers are equally (if not more) are the victims like all those who’s life gets devastated as the result of drunk driving! But this perspective does not suit the anti drunk driver campaigners basic interest. So they content that it is entirely the drunk drivers own fault therefore they deserve it!

As long as such extremely dangerous high alcohol drinks SADs licensed and marketed for the public consumption all the drunk driving and its accidents, that tragically kills and devastates millions of peoples lives anually basically going to continue more or less as it is.
