MADD Sponsor Blue Street Sign For Drunk Driving Victims

I came across this drunk driving news report in :

“TxDOT Offers Blue Street Sign For Drunk Driving Victims”! Keeping aside the controversial financial motive behind that street sign reads ‘ PLEASE DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE IN MEMORY OF (victims name and the date).’

One can clearly notice some change in their DUI message in which they target more on the alcohol drinks than on the drunk driver, by saying “Don’t Drink and Drive” instead of the common message “Don’t Drunk Drive” in this regard!

It is telling the people that those alcohol drinking can dangerously mislead them! If they drink and go to drive assuming that they are not drunk (impaired) or their BAC levels has not gone over the DUI limit!

Such assumption in the matters of alcohol drinking could get them totally wrong! Those alcohol drinks or its drinking can unwittingly lead its drinkers into excessive alcohol consumption, he or she might already well over the BAC limit and such drinking and driving can result in fatal accident and the death of the innocent victims that the sign reminds to all who see.

However the targeted people may not totally agree with that argument. Many times they drink and drive without apparently getting impaired or their BAC over the DUI limit! Perhaps over the limit driving might happened to them quite inadvertently once or twice! But life is all about taking risks that all do some time or the other! Therefore I doubt this Blue Street Signs will find much success among its intended people. Nevertheless I support it that it may still have some success in the DUI prevention and most importantly because it is a drunk driving prevention (precautionary) measure rather than a drunk driver punishment (deterrent) measure that most of them are!.

Having given my opinion, now I would like to know what is the TxDOT, and MADDs’ opinion about my drunk driving prevention appeal to Ban all those extremely dangerous high-alcohol, drinks which the alcohol drink governing bosses license and market for public consumption in the name of Standard Alcohol Drinks (most popular are the regular beer containing around 5% alcohol) all of which as the alcohol(ism) epidemiological surveys pointing out, causes almost all those drunk driving specially its accidents!--- The root-cause of drunk driving lies in the “misconduct”, “vested interest” of the alcohol drink controlling authorities that I mentioned above. ---As long as it continues the drunk driving mayhem will continue more or less much the same! --- Drunk drivers indeed are the alcohol vulnerable, gullible people made into the DUI scapegoats. Beguiled into consuming drinks containing such high amount of alcohol drug in order to obtain the super high profit of the bosses.
