CDC Missing The Critical Alcohol Drunk Driving Statistics

People who are familiar with the issue of drunk driving very well know that the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” (CDC http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/factsheets/drving.htm) has almost all of the critical US facts, dates, statistics on the drunk driving issue.

However in fact they are missing one of its most critical data or statistics of which ironically they seems to totally unaware of! Let me reveal it by posing a direct question to the CDC authorities regarding a basic and most critical alcohol drunk driving statistical fact.

In all the CDC promulgations documents, facts figures statistics when you mention about the drunk driving, which alcohol drinks are you really referring to? Are they “high” alcohol drinks? Or are they “low” alcohol drinks?

Most probably their answer would be; it deals about all kind of alcohol drinks, spirits, wines, beers, alcopop or whatever the alcohol content in them High or Low’!

Now I tell them in my search so far in their document I found out that all their drunk-driving promulgation documents statistics basically points to the fact that almost all those drunk driving offenses and most importantly its accidents happens as a result of people who were consuming the HIGH ALCOHOL CONTENT beverages (that includes the standard “beer” having around 5% alcohol) all of which has been licensed by the authorities in the named of “Standard alcohol Drinks” (SADs*). On the other hand there are no fundamental research evidences or statistics that fundamentally suggests that the consumption of LOW Alcohol Drinks (LADs) having alcohol around 2% or less results or causes in any of these drunk driving offences specially its accidents!

So once again I ask the CDC authorities show any alcohol drunk driving research survey epidemiological statistics that basically points out that the consumptions the LADs results or cause any of those drunk driving incidents and its accidents that they mention! Now to cut it short, they seems to have no such low alcohol DD epidemiological statistical data in other words the CDC Missing the Critical Drunk Driving LOW Alcohol Statistics.

To any one interested to know further on this matter I ask them to read the post titled “Alcohol Drinking: Is It A Matter of Choice?” published on this blog on 9th September 2007. Also the principle document of this blog “Alcohol Research Misconduct”, republished on 10th September 2007.

Here I am not pointing to the CDC alone missing the critical alcohol drunk driving statistics but happens in the case of all those agencies, institutions, organization those authorities all over the world who are mainly involved in the prevention of the drunk driving and publish its research, survey statistical figures. Down below few of them that I suggest reading.
